Vancouver Lake here in Clark county played host to the Pacific Dragon Boat Association’s championship races this weekend. Since I was busy on Saturday I decided to get out today and take a few photographs as time would allow.

As is the case with most Dragon Boat races the teams must use the provided Dragon Boats for the event. Teams cannot bring in their own boats. This is an effort to ensure sportsmanship by providing equal boats to all teams.

I did find one team’s boat at the event and that was from the Pink Phoenix. It is as much a promotional boat as anything else as it is painted with pink ribbons and pink highlights The dragon head, fiery tell and drum. This team is made up of breast cancer survivors and they are promoting the search for a cure as well as resilience for those impacted by breast cancer.
