I thoroughly enjoy visiting Officers Row in the Fort Vancouver National Historic site. Depending on the time of year and the time of day these buildings share themselves differently to the camera.
This morning The Marshall House certainly looked as though it wanted to have its picture taken. The green of the grass and the porch lights still glowing presented a timely view that I wanted to capture. I got the bonus of the red brick from the fireplace popping out from the subtle hues of the Victorian building itself.
This structure as built as the quarters for the Post Commander in 1886. It has been named for General George C. Marshall who served as the commander of the Vancouver Barracks from 1936 – 1938.
