The cherry trees have been blooming for over a week now. With the recent winds we have had many of the blossoms have fallen to the ground.
For quite a while now I have wanted to come down to the Tom McCall Waterfront Park to see the cherry trees in bloom. Unfortunately it has never seemed to work out for me until this morning. I heard that the winds were beginning to blow most of the blossoms off of the trees and the rain was coming this afternoon so I determined to come down and see what they looked like before they were gone.
Arriving here it was obvious that yes, the wind has blown many blossoms off of the trees. In fact, while I was here a little breeze pulled some blossoms off of the trees and floated them through the air as if they were snow flakes. I was able to make a few photos but will need to plan better next year to arrive as the blossoms are just coming out and before the wind sets them free.
