We finally have our Winter weather. Earlier in the week the forecast actually indicated the possibility of snow from early Thursday morning all of the way through Tuesday of next week. While the snow did not come as soon as it was forecasted to it did come. And, it changed our world as we enjoyed it and had to live in it.
Continue reading “Accomplishments and Snow”My views during this current period of time, the last year or so, are much more limited than they had been. I drive very few different paths to work. I go from work location to work location only if required to. I use one of a few walking paths to my desk regularly, the one where I will physically encounter the fewest people. I am distancing the best I can. And when working from home the view is constant, though what I see changes, out the window next to my desk.
Continue reading “What I Am Seeing”Covid fatigue is real. I feel it almost every single day. A mention of Covid can be found in almost everything that I am exposed to; how I dress, the things I carry with me whenever I am away from my home, how I shop for what my family needs, the work I do, the news I am exposed to and the plans that I am wanting to make. I am tired of Covid and all that it requires of me, all it has taken from me. That may sound selfish given the tragic loss that so many others have experienced, but it is a real feeling I have.
Continue reading “Continuing to Live”The week started with quotes, recollections and celebrations around the memory of Martin Luther King, Jr. a man of faith who was “all in” on changing the world that he lived in, the country that we share, for the better. It amazes me how many people twist his words to benefit their own positions. He spoke of justice yet some of those who quote his words provide privilege to some and condemn others. He spoke of equality yet some who use his words promote racism, the superiority of people of one color over those who are considered a different color.

It is so frustrating to find one’s self knowing that you must still accomplish certain tasks while in pain and not feeling well at all. Then realizing the silent enemy that has so devastated our world has hit very close as you make a decision to take the first defensive medical stand against this enemy.
Continue reading “Gathering, Pain and The Virus”Peace. Justice. Liberty. Freedom. The United States Republic. All died a little bit more this week.
The events of this week have harmed, injured and yes even killed portions of our great democratic experiment. The lack of concern by those in authority over videos of voting irregularities, late night ballot dumps and statical improbabilities lead one to wonder what evil forces are at play. What powers are so in control that the basic tenant of a vote counting for something no longer matters. The lawless actions of some motivated by the deeds and words of others tarnish the hard fought efforts by those trying to save the soul of our Republic.
Continue reading “Our Republic Dies a Little”It is no longer the year 2020. It is now 2021.
I have read the writings and comments of many expressing their gratitude for getting through the year 2020. Family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances have told me in person how grateful they are to have made it through 2020. Most everyone I listen to or read the words they have written indicates a great relief for the year 2020 to be over and the anticipation that 2021 will be a far better and very different year. I am not so sure that will be the case.
